Getting to Long Bay Beach

Situated on the southeast coast of Providenciales, Long Bay Beach boasts clear, shallow water and beautiful white sand. It is a 15 minute drive from the Providenciales International Airport and eight minutes from Grace Bay Beach area. Follow the Leeward Highway until you see “The Shore Club” sign, turn right and follow this road until you see the public beach access sign. There is a paved parking lot and a wooden boardwalk that will lead you to the beach.

Amenities

Because it’s largely undeveloped and therefore doesn’t have the extent of amenities of the larger beaches, it’s helpful to bring along your own blankets and beach gear. There is a concession stand, but it’s probably a good idea to pack extra food and drinks, especially if you have personal or dietary preferences.

Activities

You can really get away from it all here. The water is shallow, warm and flat so it’s ideal for swimming.

At certain times, the steady wind at this beach makes it perfect for kite boarding. If you’re new to the sport, it basically involves riding along the surface of the water on a wakeboard or small surfboard while holding onto a specially designed kite. Instructors from Kite Provo are on site to give kite flying and control fundamentals and tips on how to start and ride your board.

Long Bay is also home to Provo Ponies, a riding stable operated by Camile Slattery that offers horseback riding excursions along the beach. No matter your riding ability, experienced guides will treat you to an enjoyable ride, with gentle horses along a picture perfect beach.

Development on Long Bay Beach

Development on a new resort and condominium complex is underway along Long Bay Beach that will capture the best of what the area has to offer. The Shore Club luxury development project will feature 38 suites in two low-rise beachfront condos and private villas as well as a resort that will include swimming pools, spa, wellness centre, retail shops, restaurants, tennis courts and a very private beach area for guests.
