Live Music on Providenciales – Musicians and Vocalists Perform at Venues around the Island

Turks and Caicos Musicians and Vocalists Put on a Show

What an infectious drum beat, great walking bass line, and the tempo on that metal saw is perfect! Did you say metal saw? Live music on Providenciales is a must experience for any visitor.

As soon as you arrive in Providenciales, you’ll probably hear a melody, but as well as a drumstick or a guitar string making that rhythm, there’s also a saw in the group of instruments. Island “ripsaw music”, which traces back to African ancestral roots, is a style of music where metal saws are bent and scraped to produce musical tones. Other percussion sounds are made by goat skin drums, acoustic guitars, and maracas.
